According to a TripAdvisor survey of 1,200 U.S. travelers, 61 percent of pet owners travel with their dogs. Of those, 33 percent said they “often” bring Fido along, and 5 percent said they “always” do. Other travelers largely seem receptive to the idea of pets traveling alongside their owners, but 39 percent of respondents say that allergies are a concern when sharing mass transportation with dogs. Additionally, 56 percent of respondents were annoyed by owners who did not pick up after their pets, 35 percent said they do not like to see pets in “inappropriate settings,” 28 percent said they don’t like being expected to treat others’ dogs like people, and 26 percent are frustrated by noisy pets.
