Of those, 33 percent said they “often” bring Fido along, and 5 percent said they “always” do. Additionally, 56 percent of respondents were annoyed by owners who did not pick up after their pets, 35 percent said they do not like to see pets in “inappropriate settings,” 28 percent said they don’t like being expected to treat others’ dogs like people, and 26 percent are frustrated by noisy pets. The Pet Friendly Hotel Top 10 List

  1. Affinia Dumont (NYC, NY) – Dogs receive organic treats, city-specific chew toys and a canvas travel water bowl – which you are free to take home. Dogs can sleep on plush pet beds and book a session with the resident groomer or psychic. The pet fee is $25.
  2. Kimpton (San Francisco, CA & Portland, OR) – Rates are very affordable at these boutique hotels that accept pets. Cats and other more exotic animals are also welcome. Best of all, there is no extra fee.
  3. Ocean Park Resort (Myrtle Beach, SC) – This is the cheapest dog friendly hotel on the list. Pooches may not get fancy home-baked treats or pet beds, but the location is close to the beach and the price can’t be beat, even with the $15 pet fee.
  4. Hermitage Hotel (Nashville, TN) – The Pampering Pet program features treats upon check-in, as well as cozy beds. Dog walking, grooming and massage services can also be arranged. There is a $50 nightly surcharge at this award-winning hotel.
  5. Hotel Monaco (Portland, OR) – This downtown boutique has its own “Director of Pet Relations.” Free amenities include bowls and beds, but owners can also sign up for the “Portland Unleashed” package that features a dog makeover and map of dog-friendly breweries.
  6. Argonaut Hotel (San Francisco, CA) – Pets big and small are welcome here. Pets stay free and the hotel supplies beds and bottled water. In the fall, there is a “Pet Howl’oween” costume contest.
  7. Nine Zero Hotel (Boston, MA) – Located near 50 acres of public park space, this hotel gives pets a welcome treat, pet bed and bowl.
  8. The Broadmoor (Colorado Springs, CO) – Your dog will enjoy a 24-hour in-room dining menu and gourmet treats. You’ll receive a dog-friendly map with parks and scenic locations noted. Guests pay a $35 pet surcharge.
  9. Hotel Solamar (San Diego, CA) –VIP pet bonding sessions and pet massage ensure that owners and canines unwind and enjoy themselves after a long day. Dogs receive plush beds, food and water bowls in the guest rooms.
  10. Sheraton Seattle Hotel (Seattle, WA) – The Pet Welcome Pack comes with free helpful information and dog supplies. Dogs of up to 80 pounds can enjoy a sweet sleeper dog bed and a sign on the door that lets the maids know there is a “dog in room,” so they do not disturb.
